Clarksons Appoints Steve Ryoo to Drive Offshore & Renewables Expansion in South Korea
Clarksons Offshore & Renewables is thrilled to announce the appointment of Steve Shin Ryoo as Broker and Country Manager in South Korea. With a career spanning over a decade in the marine salvage, dredging, and offshore wind sectors, Steve is set to bring invaluable expertise to the team.
Steve joins Clarksons from his position as Managing Director at The KR Dredging Co., LTD, a leading marine salvage and dredging company where he successfully led government and international dredging projects in Singapore and Thailand. His career began in 2007 at Korea Salvage Co., LTD, in Busan, Republic of Korea, where he managed the company's towage and salvage team and projects, including vessel chartering, procurement of salvage equipment, and yard management.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Sociology from the University of Minnesota and a Juris Doctor degree from Ave Maria School of Law, where he studied under a Dean’s scholarship.
As a licensed lawyer and a member of the New York State Bar Association, Steve brings a unique blend of legal insight with commercial and industry expertise. His ability to maintain strong working relationships with Korean government bodies and contacts throughout the supply chain highlights his strengths in navigating complex industry landscapes.
In his new role within the Offshore division at Clarksons, Steve will concentrate on vessel chartering, sale and purchase, as well as providing Offshore Wind advisory and consultancy services, alongside Clarksons’ global team. His appointment will strengthen Clarksons’ already leading position in South Korea, where it has been present since October 2017, enabling the group to continue delivering value to clients and expand its footprint in South Korea's growing Offshore Wind industry.
