Clarksons launches group-wide Green Transition team
Clarksons is pleased to announce the formation of its group-wide Green Transition team, set up specifically to guide clients through the decarbonisation of their marine activity.
The team, led by Kenneth Tveter, ESG Project Director, comprises Managing Directors and subject matter experts from across global offices and divisions. The team will come together to provide a consultative approach to clients who are looking to understand more about their shipping carbon footprint and how it can be reduced.
IMO targets and increasing regulation is forcing the industry to take the required action to reduce emissions. Likewise, the number of signatories to voluntary carbon-reduction initiatives is steadily growing, which will advance the progression the industry can make even further.
"The decarbonisation of shipping activity will be transformational to the way business is conducted."
As the world's leading integrated shipping service provider, Clarksons can provide a significant and meaningful impact on the direction and pace of change with which the wider industry can move forward. The breadth of expertise across multiple services, functions, markets and geographies that the business operates in ensures we can help clients to navigate the journey to zero-emissions in the most effective way possible.
Clarksons’ green transition offering is made up of research services, technology solutions, broking (including carbon broking) and financial services, provided through a strategic ESG-focused lens. The offering enables Clarksons to work closely with clients to understand and help shape their green objectives, provide knowledge on the evolving regulation, calculate potential exposure and, importantly, plan and execute a range of short, medium and long term solutions across multiple functions.
The decarbonisation of shipping activity will be transformational to the way business is conducted. As such, the ability for charterers and owners to work closely with a single provider to obtain the expertise and solutions they need as a joined-up service offering, will ensure they can meaningfully contribute towards the global climate change agenda more effectively whilst realising the value and opportunity that progression can bring.
